Overnight road closures M23, M25

If you’re travelling overnight to Gatwick this week, please be aware of overnight road closures affecting the M23 and M25.

The westbound Gatwick Spur Road (Junctions 8-10a) will be closed overnight for the next four nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am. A signed diversion will be in place.

There will also be overnight closures on the M25.

M23 Junction 9 roadworks start tonight

Watch out for roadworks taking place this week at Junction 9 on the M23 (Gatwick Airport) .

Overnight tonight (Monday 1 February)

  • From 22:00 until 04:00 tomorrow, Tuesday 2 February: The southbound exit slip at Junction 9 and one lane of the southbound carriageway will be closed.
  • Overnight between 22:00 tonight and 05:00 on Tuesday: The southbound entry slip will be closed

Overnight Tuesday (2 Feb)

  • From 22:00 on Tuesday until 05:00 on Wednesday: There will be lane closures and the northbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed.

From Wednesday 3 until Friday 5 February

  • Between the hours of 22:00 until 06:00: The London-bound exit slip road will be closed.

Signed diversions will be in place for the duration of the roadworks.

A23 Gatwick Airport Way to close for five nights

If you’re travelling to Gatwick next week, watch out for road resurfacing work taking place on the eastbound section of the A23 Gatwick Airport Way.

From Monday 16 November, the A23 Gatwick Airport Way (eastbound) will be closed between the hours of 8pm and 4am for five nights.

A diversion will be in place via the A23 London Road, the A2011 Crawley Avenue and the M23, but do be aware that this diversion is eight miles long and will add at least 14 minutes to your journey.

M23 roadworks to affect Gatwick travel

Overnight roadworks will begin tonight on the M23 northbound at Junction 9 (Gatwick). Speed restrictions, lane closures and a 50mph speed limit will be in operation between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The work is expected to be completed on Sunday 19 April.

There will also be overnight (8pm to 6am Mon-Fri) lane closures in both directions at Junction 11 – work is scheduled to finish by the end of April.
