Norwegian unveils new destination from Gatwick

Norwegian has announced it is launching Gatwick to Rhodes flights this summer.

The service will operate weekly from 17 June until 16 October.

The low-cost airline is also increasing the frequency of its flights to Kefalonia, Palma, Chania, Ibiza, Oslo, Aalborg and Stavanger.

Norwegian offers Premium passengers free lounge access


Norwegian has announced that Premium passengers travelling on its Oakland International Airport (OAK) to Gatwick service will be offered free access to the airport’s brand new lounge.

The new Escape Lounge at OAK will be available to Premium passengers from this month and will complement the passengers’ free access to No1 Lounges at Gatwick.

OAK’s Escape Lounge offers a relaxing atmosphere with stylish and contemporary furnishings, an extensive, complimentary locally inspired menu, unlimited free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and free high-speed Wi-Fi in addition to a selection of newspapers and magazines.

Passengers travelling in Norwegian’s economy passengers can also benefit from the Lounge’s facilities at a fee.

Norwegian launches Gatwick to Iceland flights

Irrespective of the Government’s runway decision, Norwegian is standing by Gatwick with the launch of flights to Reykjavik.

The low-cost airline’s latest offering: a three-times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) service to Iceland begins next Tuesday, 1 November.

In addition to the new Iceland service, Norwegian’s Gatwick to Puerto Rico flights are set to return next Wednesday, 2 November, operating throughout the winter until 30 April 2017.

Norwegian launches two new Gatwick destinations

Norwegian has announced the launch of two new services from Gatwick to Iceland and Lapland this winter.

Flights to Keflavik, Iceland will begin on 30 October, operating three times per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) throughout the winter.

Flights to Rovaniemi, Lapland’s capital will commence on 19 December, operating twice a week (Mondays and Fridays).

In addition to the two new destinations, Norwegian has also announced increased winter services to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Tromso and Grenoble.

Norwegian opens UK headquarters at Gatwick

Norwegian has opened its new UK headquarters at Gatwick Airport, the low-cost airline’s first base outside Norway.

The airline has become Gatwick’s third largest airline, after British Airways and EasyJet, handling 3.9 million passengers per year, and more than 700 pilots, cabin crew and staff working from its Gatwick base.

Gatwick to Crete flights announced

There’s now even more choice of destinations for Gatwick fliers thanks to budget-airline Norwegian.

The airline has announced it will launch flights to Chania in Crete – Norwegian’s fifth European route. Flights will operate three times per week from 28 April using a 186-seat Boeing 737-800.

Norwegian’s Gatwick to Oakland-San Francisco flights will launch on 12 May.

Gatwick to San Francisco flights announced

Low-cost airline Norwegian has announced another US destination from Gatwick Airport.

The airline will begin flying to San Francisco on 12 May 2016. Flights will operate three times per week (Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays) to San Francisco Oakland Airport.

This will be Norwegian’s seventh US and Caribbean destination from Gatwick – the airline currently operates flights to New York, Los Angeles, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Puerto Rico, Boston flights are due to launch in March, two months earlier than scheduled.

Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos said: “Launching the UK’s cheapest flight to San Francisco is a great addition as our low-cost transatlantic plans continue to grow. From the East Coast to the West Coast, our ground-breaking flights are creating a new market for low-cost travel to America. We look forward to adding San Francisco to our network from London Gatwick as we continue our exciting plans for UK growth.”

Gatwick to Boston flights to launch earlier than announced

There’s great news for Gatwick with the announcement that Norwegian’s Gatwick to Boston services will launch earlier than anticipated.

The airline had planned to launch its Gatwick to Boston flights in May, however, these have now been brought forward to March.

The five-times weekly service will launch on 27 March and operate daily (except Tuesdays and Saturdays).

Norwegian doubles Gatwick to Gothenburg flights

Norwegian is set to double the number of flights it operates between Gatwick and Gothenburg this winter.

The airline, which recently won the Skytrax Award for “Europe’s best low cost airline” for the third consecutive year, currently operates six flights per week. From 25 October 2015, Norwegian will increase the number to 12 per week.

Norwegian increases flights to Berlin

Norwegian is set to increase the frequency of its Gatwick to Berlin flights this winter.

From 25 October, the airline will add an extra four flights bringing the total weekly number to 11.
