Gatwick airlines in terminal move

British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and easyJet are moving terminals in January.

Dates and airline details are as follows:

  • British Airways
    11 January, from this date BA’s 2272/3 New York (JFK) flights will operate from the South Terminal.
    19 January, BA’s 2613/2 Naples services will operate from the South Terminal.
    25 January, all British Airways flights will operate from the South Terminal.
  • easyJet
    From 24 January, all easyJet flights will operate from Gatwick’s North Terminal.
  • Virgin Atlantic
    From 24 January, all Virgin Atlantic flights will operate from the North Terminal.

BA to resume its Gatwick to New York flights

Seven years after it last operated flights between Gatwick and New York, British Airways is set to resume the service.

From 1 May 2016, the airline will operate a daily service using a B777-200 in a three-class configuration.

Air Norwegian currently offers a daily service to New York from Gatwick.

BA announces Gatwick to Valencia flights

British Airways is set to go head to head with easyJet after announcing it will launch flight to Valencia from Gatwick.

BA’s Valencia flights will commence on 6 November, initially operating four times per week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays – increasing to six per week duringthe 2016 summer season.

BA reinstates Gatwick to Madeira flights

Gatwick to Madeira flights are back on the map after after British Airways reinstated its flights to Funchal.

The airline is currently operating three flights per week, which will increase to five from June, reducing to four per week for the winter season.

Gatwick to Vienna flights announced

British Airways is set to launch Gatwick flights to Vienna later this year.

From 17 September, the airline will operate six flights per week (Monday to Fridays and Sundays) using an A320 aircraft.

BA’s Gatwick to Vienna service will be reduced to four times per week (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) in October.

BA offers Gatwick discounts

British Airways is giving customers at Gatwick Airport a New Year’s present of 10 per cent off all flights to Europe.

Customers who book European flights from now until January 5 will be eligible for the discount for travel from New Year’s Day until March 31 2014.

The offer is valid in both Euro Traveller and Club Europe cabins as well as on domestic flights in the UK.

To book on ba.com customers must enter EUROPEOFFER as the promotional code to qualify for the discount.

Special vouchers promoting the offer are being handed out at Gatwick until Christmas Eve.

BA announces Gatwick flights to Malta

British Airways is set to launch a new daily service from Gatwick to Malta from March next year.

The new direct flights will commence on 30 March 2014 with one-way prices starting at £55.

In addition to the Malta flights, BA has announced an increase in summer services to Catania, Dubrovnik, Marrakech, Naples and Salzburg.

Peter Simpson, British Airways’ director Gatwick, said: “We are delighted to be launching this new route to Malta for Summer 2014 allowing us to return to the island, which we last served in 2009. We believe the convenient timings for the services will make the route attractive to tourists as well as those visiting friends and relatives.

“Expanding our leisure route network at Gatwick is fantastic news for British Airways customers, offering them even greater choice, along with our range of highly competitive fares, generous hand baggage allowances and great onboard service.”

BA introduces new low fares from Gatwick

British Airways has slashed up to 20 per cent off shorthaul fares from Gatwick and is introducing a new £39 one-way fare to some of its most popular destinations.

The new fares, combined with the airline’s fantastic new home in the North Terminal, mean customers are getting both exceptional value and customer service. Passengers will be able to travel on 12 of the 29 British Airways domestic and European routes from Gatwick for less than £40 one-way.

At Gatwick one-way all-inclusive fares to Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh are already competitively priced from £36, but fares to popular European cities like Malaga, Bologna and Verona are being cut and will start from £39.

Many other Gatwick routes will also have fare reductions including Innsbruck and Faro from £49, Salzburg from £59 and Marrakech from £69.

The reductions will be supported by an advertising campaign that highlights British Airways’ low fares and high value ethos at Gatwick. With the recent opening of a new dedicated check-in hall, featuring state-of-the-art technology, British Airways passengers will benefit from a premium service at non-premium prices.
