Gatwick Express has been awarded ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ at the Global AirRail awards 2012.

The awards ceremony that took place in Stockholm, showcased the best of the best from the international air-rail market. Gatwick Express won the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year award’ for their dedication to driving their sales online.

Persuading customers to buy tickets online rather than at a station or on a train after 200 years of ingrained ticket buying behaviour is a significant task and for Gatwick Express this involved rolling the online message out to the world, as well as here in the UK.

A sustainable creative and communications campaign was rolled out throughout last year, offering customers discounts when booking online. This gained outstanding results increasing online ticket sales by 150%.
