Jamie Oliver lands at Gatwick

Jamie Oliver’s first airport restaurant opened to Gatwick passengers this morning, 2 July 2012.

The new offering includes a Jamie’s Italian, a Union Jacks Bar serving an all-British menu and a Jamie’s Italian Bakery, which offers passengers food to take onto the plane or to eat on the go.

Jamie Oliver said: “Opening this restaurant in the airport is a new and exciting step to take. Whether you want to dine in the Italian, grab food for the flight from the bakery, or savour some good old Blighty grub before you jet off, this is something really special, just for Gatwick.”

The new restaurant occupies 6,000 sq ft and is open to passengers boarding the first flight of the day until after the last flight has departed.
