Gatwick gains direct Baghdad flights

Direct Gatwick flights to Baghdad will commence on 5 March 2013 – the first time for 23 years – thanks to Iraqi Airways.

Flights will initially operate twice-weekly using the airline’s new Airbus A330, A321 and A320 planes, increasing to six per week from 15 June. Flights to Sulaimaniya will also operate weekly.

All return flights will be subject to a one-hour stopover in Malmo, Sweden, for security reasons.
