If you were one of those poor people caught up in the Christmas Eve chaos at Gatwick Airport and you had your flight cancelled, Gatwick Airport is offering a little sweetner – £100 of high street vouchers.
If your flight was cancelled on Christmas Eve because of the power outage in Gatwick’s North Terminal – either departure or arrival – you may be entitled to the vouchers.
To claim, you need to email Gatwick Airport (customer.services@gatwickairport.com) with evidence of your Christmas Eve flight booking – you must also include your postal address.
All applications will be subject to verification, and once verified, vouchers will be posted within 28 days.
Im one of th poor people that spent over 15hrs at Gatwick airport christmas eve and £100 of vouchers is an insult as I spent that on food , phone calls and petrol as well as a further £500 re arranging my holiday .
I agree the voucher offer is an insult ,lost four days of my hard earned Xmas break ,for which I payed hard earned cash not hight street vouchers , after all they don’t sell four days in sharm at M&S
@Tracey, @Ann, I’m sorry to hear that you were affected by the delays and cancellations on Christmas Eve.
The CAA has information and advice about flight delays and cancellations and possible claims for compensation – check their website here: http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=2226&pageid=15601
Good luck, Paula
…it definitely makes sense to compensate this kind of chaos. We´ve been there as well, and we never expected to have an experience like this! Maybe it depends a little bit, because we are used to german standards ;o)
I have received my £100 compensation for the delay however my husband who’s details I sent at the same time hasn’t yet it seems very unfair that he doesn’t get compensated, if we had different surnames would that make a difference? It shouldn’t, I have tried to contact you via email 5different times and not one response shame on you all!
