A380 history set to be made at Gatwick

Emirates will fly into Gatwick aviation history next month with the touch down of the first ever A380 to land at Gatwick.

The special A380 flight is to commemorate 25 years of Emirates flights to the UK.

The Emirates A380 flight EK015 from Dubai will arrive at Gatwick at 12:30 on 6 July and depart as flight EK016 to Dubai at 15:30.

In 2012, Gatwick received permission for A380s to land, and in January applied for planning permission to reconfigure an aircraft stand and for a parking area to accommodate the Airbus A380s.

Emirates already operates A380 flights to Heathrow and Manchester airports.
