ASL lands Monarch ground-handling contract

Monarch Airlines has announced that Airline Services (ASL) will be responsible for its ground handling at Gatwick.

In August the airline cancelled its Gatwick ground-handling contract with Swissport following delays that saw some passengers wait five hours for their luggage.

Michael Whitfield, Head of Procurement for Monarch Airlines said, “This is a significant change to Monarch’s operations at Gatwick airport and represents our commitment to customer service. ASL have spent an extensive period of time working with Monarch to plan for a successful start to operations. We would like to thank ASL and the LGW airport leadership for the significant contributions made in the planning phase.”

ASL offers ground handling at 11 of the UK’s major airports.
