Gatwick to Moscow flights announced

One of the world’s oldest airlines, Aeroflot, it set to launch Gatwick to Moscow flights next month – one of 20 new long-haul destinations to be launched from Gatwick this year.

Commencing on 15 November 2016, the airline will offer daily flights to Sheremetyevo International Airport.

Flights will depart Gatwick at 16:10 (17:00 on Sundays), arriving in Moscow at 22:50 (23:40 on Sundays) – all local times.

Russia was voted the 2015 World’s most visited destination, in terms of international travelers, by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, so these flights are expected to be extremely popular.

Gatwick Airport, Chief Commercial Officer Guy Stephenson said: “Moscow is a fantastic new addition to Gatwick’s route network joining an impressive line-up of new destinations from Gatwick, including China, Peru, Canada, Costa Rica, Nigeria, South Africa and the United States.”

Gatwick to Moscow flights were previously operated by EasyJet, however, this serviced ceased in March 2016.

Aeroflot is also increasing its number of Moscow flights from Heathrow this winter.
