Gatwick to Cape Town flights announced

British Airways plane taking off from Gatwick

British Airways has announced the launch of a new service to Cape Town from Gatwick.

The three-times-weekly service will commence on 24 November – flights will depart Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, arriving in Cape Town the following morning.

Lynne Embleton, British Airways’ managing director at Gatwick said: “With its fantastic blend of nature, culture, wildlife and history there’s nowhere quite like Cape Town. Its dramatic coastline, the breath-taking views from Table Mountain and world-renowned vineyards and restaurants make it one of the most popular places in Africa to visit and explore.

“We are incredibly excited to be the only airline to offer direct services from both Gatwick and Heathrow to this hugely popular destination while adding another long haul route to our rapidly growing network.”

Cape Town is the fourth long-haul destination that BA is launching this year from Gatwick – flights to Costa Rica will launch on 27 April, daily flights to New York’s JFK begin on 1 May, and flights to Lima, Peru will start on 4 May.
