BA makes changes to baggage allowances

British Airways is rolling out new baggage allowances over the next few weeks.

Hold luggage

From 11 August 2015, passengers purchasing World Traveller (economy) fully flexible Y class fares will only be permitted to check in one free bag with a maximum weight of 23kg. However, if you are travelling after 11 August, but purchased your ticket prior to 11 August, you will be permitted to check in two bags.

So, if you want to fly with two bags, you have until 10 August to book your flights, but do remember to print off your email confirmation / original e-ticket as proof of your baggage allowance.

Cabin baggage

BA is reducing the maximum size of its handbag/laptop bag to 40cm x 30cm x 15cm, however, no change is being made to the main cabin bag size, which remains at no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm.
